Wow! I can't believe it is almost September already! Here is what we did in August:
Since we homeschool pretty much year round we started back up on the 2nd after being off for about a month. To see what we have been up to click here. I post weekly (if not twice a week) so you will have to scroll down to see everything we have been learning!
On the 6th I took Unicorn shopping for "school" clothes. She grew quite a bit over the summer (even broke 50 pounds) so she needed shoes, socks, underwear, jeans, and a couple shirts. With the summer money that Papa Kent and Nana Kathy sent her she also bought slippers.
On the 14th we went on our first Field Trip. We went to the Casa Grande Ruins. Click here for more details and pictures!

On the 24th my preschool started back up! We are doing a "Little Artists" unit to get started and then in September we will be learning about Families and starting to learn about our letters, numbers, colors, shapes, etc.
On the 27th we had a rainy morning and played in the rain.
Then we had an unwelcome, unexpected visitor:
Then we "kidnapped" Aunt Jen from her hotel in Phoenix (she was in town for business) and made her spend the night and hang out with us.
On the 28th we hung out with Aunt Jen some more and then in the afternoon Aunt Jen, Unicorn and I went to visit Grandma Merchant, shopping and had dinner together. Then we took Aunt Jen back to her hotel only to discover that the power was out at the hotel. We hung out in the dark until the power came back on and then Marissa and I went home.
On the 29th we celebrated Kurt's 43 birthday (his birthday was the 30th). The kids decorated the chairs with streamers they found (left over from their birthdays) and put the candels on his cake. Here are some pictures:

Looks like you had a busy month! I'm looking forward to updates!
